You get your domain transferred, DNS records configured, an SSL certificate installed and renewing, and everything pointed where it should be. It is a one-off job that ends with your domain in your control rather than sitting with a former developer or an agency you have stopped working with.

One thing we do not do, deliberately: we do not resell domains. Your domain is registered in your name, on your card, at cost. Reselling them is thin margin and permanent admin, and more importantly it would mean the single most important asset you own sits in somebody else's account.

That has ended badly for enough businesses that we will not be part of it.

Your domain is registered somewhere you cannot access, or with somebody you no longer work with, and nobody is quite sure who controls it. Or you are moving hosting and the DNS side is the part that worries you, because that is the bit that can take email and the website down together if it is done carelessly.

If what you actually need is business email set up, that is the Email Setup rather than this, and the two are deliberately separate products. If you are moving your whole site to us, the Migration Service includes the DNS cutover as part of the job, so you do not need to buy this as well.

Common questions

Who owns the domain afterwards?▾

You do, registered in your name and paid for at cost with no margin added. It is the most important thing you own online and it should never sit in a supplier's account, including ours.

Will my website or email go down during the transfer?▾

Not if it is planned properly, which is most of what you are paying for. Records are prepared in advance and changes are made in the right order, because a careless DNS change is exactly what takes the website and the email down at the same time.

What if I do not know who has my domain?▾

That is common and there is usually a route to finding out and getting control back. Tell us what you know and we will look. It is worth doing before you need to move urgently rather than during a crisis.

Does this cover my email as well?▾

No, and that is deliberate rather than an oversight. Setting up business email is a separate job with its own product, the Email Setup, so you are not paying for it inside this one if you do not need it.
